About Ben

Last updated

Hi. I’m Benjamin Alexander Barbersmith: aspiring entrepreneur, lover of technology, Master of Physics (MPhys), runner of marathons, drinker of tea.

I graduated from the University of Warwick in 2009 with First Class Honours, worked in the beautiful city of Oxford for a 4 years as a pre-sales engineer, and now I work at Google in London while living in the awesome town of Reading.

Beyond work, I run marathons (and a lot of half marathons) for fun, learn as much as I can about web development, hack together handy tools to practice what I’ve learned, take photos in an occasional attempt to be arty, and listen to a wide variety of music as the soundtrack to my life. I also like to think of myself as a budding entrepreneur, always working on the next big thing.

Some of my projects are listed on this site. You can also find more of my code on Github and some of my photography on Flickr.

I try to release a lot of my content under permissive licences like Creative Commons or the MIT licence, so in general you’re welcome to use my photographs or hack on my code. Just let me know if you do anything cool - I’d love to see it.
